I will soon be certified to teach Social Studies for Secondary Education. I have wanted to teach History since I was a sophomore in High School. I am 34 years old and finally completing my dream. Although I took a detour on my way here, I have been advocating learning since I graduated. I’ve supervised or was a Shift Leader for several restaurants. I taught Sunday school, built a Dramatic Arts Program for my church’s youth, served as a Board member for numerous committees, and even taught toddlers bible study. I have served as Assistant Director for VBS, teaching the Arts and Crafts, or teaching a specific grade. I was employed at an Elementary school teaching 1st and 2nd graders for 4 years. Whether working with children or a coworker, in some form my love of knowledge eventually has me teaching someone! I truly love the opportunity to learn. I have forgotten things I have learned, have realized things I learned at a later date, or accept that I didn’t learn what I will from whatever I have already done. I am extremely excited about the journey I am getting ready to begin with my students! We are going to learn a lot more than Social Studies!
